wineThis is one not to miss. These festivals are held throughout the year all over the country. Be sure to check out the Marlborough Food and Wine Festival and the Clyde Wine and Food Festival if your in the area when they are held.

You can see over 40 wineries from across the five South Island wine regions present their wines, with top local chefs plating up their best culinery dishes to match. The festivals also provide a wide range of entertainment including cooking masterclasses with celebrity chefs, informative wine seminarswith leading wine personalities, or simply soak up the festival atmosphere with a glass in hand and enjoy the sounds of some of the best local acts.

The Marlborough Food and Wine Festival is New Zealand’s original and longest running held in a world-renowned wine producing region, and the Clyde Wine and Food Festival is held on Easter Sunday each year in Central Otago. Part of its charm is the location. The festival is held in Clyde’shistoric precinct which has many of its original schist stone buildings dating back to the 1860s, and is also surrounded by rock hills and stunning mountains. There is an entry fee as well to these events.
